RM of Sarnia’s story
The Rural Municipality of Sarnia No. 221 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909. It lies in the south-central part of Saskatchewan.
Within its boundaries are the villages of Chamberlain, Dilke and Holdfast, along with the resort villages of Alice Beach, Grandview Beach and Wee Too Beach, and the organized hamlet of Sarnia Beach. Last Mountain Lake, the Arm River and the Lovering Lakes are among its notable waters, and the Arm River Recreation Site is the park found here.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Wednesday of each month. The municipal office is in Holdfast.
